Discover 'Egyptian Birds', part of an exclusive collaboration between Kunstsokken and the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden. This design tells the story of Peftjauneith's coffin through the eyes of two sacred birds – the falcon and the owl.

On one side you see Horus, the falcon god and son of Osiris, who was responsible for his father's funeral rituals. This majestic falcon stands proudly on its pedestal, surrounded by authentic hieroglyphs. On the other side, you'll find the owl – the hieroglyph for the sound "-m" – followed by a flagpole referring to the creator god Atum. Flagpoles like these stood at Egyptian temples and were used to designate gods.

These socks are more than a design; they're a lesson in the language of the ancient Egyptians. Every bird, every symbol tells a story about gods, rituals, and the written word. The warm colors – ochre, blue, and green – are directly inspired by the original paint pigments applied to the 2,600-year-old sarcophagus.
