Description
This pair of Delftware slippers is about 11 centimetres long: they were never meant to be worn. An unknown Delft pottery made them between c. 1750 and 1775 and painted them with blue flowers. Little shoes like these were popular ornaments in the 18th century and were often given as gifts.
The pair belongs to the collection of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
